Maple is a hard, durable hardwood valued for its pale, creamy color and fine, uniform grain. Its natural strength and smooth finish make it a favorite for high-end cabinetry, butcher block countertops, and fine furniture. Our maple shelves and mantels are offered in a single natural finish to highlight the wood’s clean beauty—though we also offer them unfinished if you prefer to customize the color yourself.

Why Use Outdated Hardware for your maple floating shelves?

Most maple floating shelves use a basic 2-prong bracket, creating weak points and limiting weight to about 50 lbs per stud. That might work for light décor, but not for real storage.

Our shelves use the Hovr Bracket System, where male and female brackets interlock and screw together for unmatched strength. With this design, our maple shelves can hold up to 150 lbs per stud, giving you the freedom to store and display without worry.

The Shelves

I need a size not listed, what should I do?

We can make anything between 5" and 12" deep, and 12" and 58" long. Order the size closest to what you need and let us know in 'Order Notes' on the cart page.

Need something longer? Email us and we'll see what we can do.

Can I customize my shelves?

Absolutely! These are made out of solid hardwood, so your creativity is the limit when it comes to customizing your shelves. There is a $50/shelf fee for any customization. Some of our popular customization requests:

  • Radius Corners
  • Routered channels for LED lights, plus a hole drilled through the shelf for wiring
  • Custom edge profiles
  • Plate grooves

How thick are they?

1.8". We start with solid 2" thick hardwood. Once we plane, surface, and sand your shelves, we're left with 1.8" thick shelves.

We currently ship to the United States, Canada, Australia and the UK. To enquire about shipping to a different destination, please contact us.

How long will it take to receive my order?

As all of our shelves are hand made, our standard production time is 4-5 weeks.
